Role
We are seeking an experiencedEngagement & Experiential Manager to join our fun, playful and fast-growing team! This role reports to our VP of Marketing.
1. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the coordination of event logistics for a variety of assigned events.
2. Establish schedules and methods for providing artistic services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
3. Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
4. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
5. Plan and coordinate various events; develop and review contracts with various contractors; ensure event compliance with established contract standards.
6. Coordinate the maintenance and repair of assigned event facilities including the maintenance and repair of recreational equipment; oversee and approve purchases of new equipment and needed supplies.
7. Perform the more complex and difficult tasks of the work group including seeking and obtaining private sector and media sponsorship for assigned events.
8. Work closely with outside agencies and neighborhood associations in the preparation for assigned events; assist in negotiating and reviewing contracts to ensure compliance.
9. Participate in the selection of events staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
10. Participate in the preparation and administration of the assigned event budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
11. Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
12. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of event planning.
13. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field, plus five (4) years of event planning experience to include one (1-2) year direct supervisory or technical lead experience in an administrative capacity.

• Supervise, organize, and review the work of lower level staff
• Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff
• Coordinate and direct assigned events or services
• Coordinate the provision of food, entertainment, barricading, tenting and security at assigned events
• Prepare necessary vendor contracts
• Prepare necessary vendor facility rental permits/contracts
• Coordinate the maintenance and repair of assigned event facilities
• Elicit community and organizational support for cultural activities and art programs
• Interpret and explain City policies and procedures
• Prepare clear and concise reports
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including City officials and the general public
• Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the coordination of entertainment and logistics for a variety of assigned events; ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures and perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receive direction from higher level event management staff. May exercise supervision over lower level staff.
